Which HPV vaccine course may be right for you?
HPV vaccination is relevant to boys, girls, men and women. Vaccination can begin at age nine, with routine vaccination generally recommended at ages 11–12. Catch-up vaccination is recommended through age 26 for people who have not completed an appropriate course.

What Gardasil 9 helps protect against
Gardasil 9 is a human papillomavirus vaccine that targets nine HPV types. It helps protect against certain HPV-related diseases, including genital warts and cervical, vaginal, vulvar, anal and some throat cancers caused by the covered types. The relevant protection depends on the individual’s anatomy and previous exposure. FDA
Vaccination works best before exposure to HPV. It prevents new infections with covered types; it does not clear an existing HPV infection or treat an HPV-related disease. CDC

Clinical care and Medilife provider assurance
Vaccination is delivered through Medilife’s own healthcare team. Before your appointment, tell the healthcare professional about previous vaccine reactions, significant allergies, current illness, medicines and any condition affecting your immune system.
Soreness, redness or swelling at the injection site, headache and fever can occur after HPV vaccination. Fainting can also happen after an injection, so follow the professional’s advice about remaining seated and observation afterwards. A severe allergic reaction is rare but requires immediate emergency care. CDC
Ask about aftercare, your vaccination record and the timing of any remaining doses so you know how to continue your course.
Vaccination, HPV testing and cervical screening
Vaccination and testing serve different purposes.
HPV vaccination
Gardasil 9 helps protect against future infection with the HPV types it covers.
HPV testing
An HPV test checks for particular HPV types in a collected sample. If you are looking for testing or have been advised to investigate an HPV concern, explore our HPV testing service.
Vaccination does not replace cervical screening. Continue any recommended HPV screening or Pap smear appointments even after completing your vaccine course. CDC
Other vaccinations available from Medilife
Your HPV vaccination enquiry can also be an opportunity to discuss other vaccination needs.
Medilife provides influenza vaccination for patients seeking protection against seasonal flu. Ask about the current vaccine and suitability for your age and health history.
Medilife also provides chickenpox vaccination. If you are unsure about previous vaccination or infection, discuss your history before arranging a dose.

Common questions before booking
HPV vaccination is deferred until after pregnancy. If you become pregnant between doses, tell your healthcare professional before arranging the next appointment. CDC
A delayed dose does not usually mean restarting the course. Share the dates of your previous doses so a healthcare professional can confirm what remains and when to receive it. CDC
Coverage depends on your policy. Check with your insurer and ask Medilife about the documentation needed for any reimbursement before booking.
Public vaccination eligibility depends on the programme and patient criteria. Check with Dubai Health or the relevant public healthcare provider for current eligibility.
Ask Medilife to confirm the full package inclusions and total payable amount for your home, hotel or office appointment before booking.
