Medilife provides thyroid function testing at home across Dubai for AED 300, checking TSH, T3 and T4 to build a clear picture of how your thyroid is working. Medilife has provided home healthcare in Dubai since 2016, and Medilife Healthcare Services LLC is licensed by the Dubai Health Authority as a Home Healthcare Center. A DHA-licensed nurse collects your blood sample wherever suits you, at home, your hotel or your office, and same-day appointments can often be arranged. Once your results are ready, a Medilife doctor talks you through what they mean, at no extra cost.

What This Test Checks, and How It Differs From Thyroid Antibody Testing
A thyroid function test, sometimes called a thyroid profile or TFT, looks at three key markers: thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), T3 and T4. Together, these help build a picture of whether your thyroid is producing too little hormone, too much, or a typical amount. Medilife's thyroid function panel covers all three markers in a single home visit; in general clinical practice, TSH is often the first thyroid measurement checked, with T3 and T4 adding further detail depending on the result and the reason for testing.
If you only need your TSH level checked, for example as a routine recheck while you're already on thyroid medication, Medilife also offers a standalone TSH test.
It's worth knowing that a thyroid function test is different from thyroid antibody testing. Antibody tests look for markers such as anti-TPO, thyroglobulin antibodies and TSH receptor antibodies, and they're generally used to help investigate whether an autoimmune condition such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis or Graves' disease may be contributing, once thyroid function results, symptoms or medical history point in that direction. Medilife offers thyroid antibody testing as a separate home test.

Quick answer
Who Should Consider a Thyroid Function Test
A thyroid function test can be worth booking if you've noticed:
- Persistent tiredness that doesn't improve with rest
- Unexplained weight gain or weight loss
- Hair thinning or hair loss
- Low mood or noticeable mood swings
- Feeling unusually cold or unusually hot compared with those around you
- Irregular periods
- New symptoms in the months after pregnancy or childbirth
- A family history of thyroid problems
Some people book a thyroid function test simply as part of a general health check, without any particular symptoms; whether that's useful for you depends on your individual circumstances. A doctor may also order this test to help work out whether an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism) or an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism) could explain how you've been feeling.
How Your Home Thyroid Test Works

Available at Home, Hotel or Office
Home
Most patients choose to have their sample collected at home, avoiding a trip to a clinic altogether.
Hotel
If you're visiting Dubai and need a thyroid test while you're here, a nurse can attend your hotel room instead.
Office
For anyone who would rather not take time out of the working day, sample collection can also take place at your workplace
The Team Behind Your Test: Nurses, Doctors and DHA Licensing
Your sample is collected by a DHA-licensed nurse or phlebotomist, trained to draw blood safely and comfortably at your chosen location. Once your thyroid test results are back, a Medilife doctor reviews them with you and explains what the numbers mean for your health.

Why Choose Medilife for Your Thyroid Test
Licensed by the Dubai Health Authority
Medilife Healthcare Services LLC holds DHA Facility Licence 0002464 as a Home Healthcare Center, so your test is delivered by a regulated provider, not an informal service
Home healthcare in Dubai since 2016
Medilife has been providing home healthcare across Dubai for years, not months, giving you a provider with a track record behind it.
Medilife's own care team
Your nurse and doctor are part of Medilife's own home healthcare team, rather than an outsourced or third-party agency, giving you one clear point of contact for your sample collection and result consultation.
A doctor consultation is included
Unlike services that charge extra for someone to explain your results, Medilife includes a doctor consultation with every thyroid function test, so you're never left reading a lab report on your own.
NABIDH-connected
Medilife Healthcare Services LLC is certified by the Dubai Health Authority as a NABIDH-Connected Healthcare Provider, meaning your records can be shared securely within Dubai's unified health information exchange rather than staying siloed with a single clinic.
Confidential by design
Your test results and personal health information are handled confidentially throughout, from sample collection to your doctor consultation
A multilingual care team
Medilife's doctors between them speak English, Arabic, Hindi, Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada, so you can usually be understood clearly, whichever of these languages you're most comfortable in.
Other Tests and Care Options to Consider
TSH Test
If you only need a single follow-up TSH reading rather than the full three-marker panel, for example while monitoring existing thyroid medication, Medilife offers TSH testing on its own as a more focused testing option.
Thyroid Antibody Tests
If autoimmune thyroid disease is a concern, Medilife's thyroid antibody testing looks at markers such as anti-TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies. This is a separate test from the standard thyroid function panel, and your doctor can help you decide which is right for you.
If your symptoms need a fuller assessment before or after your thyroid test, Medilife's Doctor on Call service brings a DHA-licensed doctor to your home, hotel or office for an in-person consultation.
What Medilife Patients Say
Medilife has served more than 47,000 patients, with a reported patient satisfaction rate of 99.8%. You can read what patients say about Medilife on Google and Trustpilot.
