Medilife offers general health check-up blood test packages in Dubai, from a 50-parameter Basic panel to a 140-parameter V.V.I.P. screening. Prices start from AED 299. Quick answer
What's Included in a General Health Blood Test
A general health screening blood test looks at several body systems at once rather than a single condition. It typically covers blood count, blood sugar, cholesterol, liver and kidney function, and often thyroid and vitamin levels, giving a broad picture of your current health.
Medilife's packages are built for a range of situations: an annual check-up, a first screening for a family, monitoring a known risk such as cholesterol or blood sugar, or wanting a clearer picture before making lifestyle changes. Because needs differ, Medilife offers six package tiers rather than a single fixed blood test package, so you can choose the level of detail that suits you.

Parameter count alone does not determine which package is right for you. Higher-tier packages may include different or more specialised tests even where the total parameter count is lower than another package. Comprehensive, for example, has more parameters than Premium and Executive, but the packages differ in which systems each one tests in depth, not just how many markers each contains.
Every package includes sample collection, laboratory analysis and a digital report of your results.
Basic Health Check-Up
 50 parameters
- A starting point for general screening. Includes a Complete Blood Count, Diabetes Profile (fasting or random blood sugar and HbA1c), Lipid Profile, Liver Function Test, Kidney Function Test, Thyroid Stimulating Hormone, iron level and Vitamin D.
Comprehensive Health Check-Up
119 parameters
- Builds on the Basic package with a full Urine Analysis, Stool Routine Examination, and a wider Kidney Function panel that includes estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate. A broader option for anyone who wants more systems covered.
Premium Health Check-Up
114 parameters
- Adds a Cardiac Profile (Troponin-I), inflammation markers (CRP and ESR), Allergy Profile, Pancreatic Function tests, and an expanded Iron Studies and Bone & Mineral Profile. Suited to those who want cardiac and inflammatory markers included alongside the standard panels.
Executive Health Check-Up
117 parameters
- Designed with busy professionals in mind. Includes a Renal Profile with electrolytes, a Cardiac Profile, an expanded Thyroid Profile (TT3, TT4 and TSH), Bone & Mineral Health, and hormone-related tests, including PSA for men and CA-125 for women.
Royal Health Check-Up
- A more extensive screening that adds Stool Analysis, an H. pylori test, an expanded Kidney Function panel with urine microalbumin, a Cardiac Profile including Homocysteine and NT-proBNP, blood group and G6PD testing, and infectious disease tests covering HIV, Hepatitis C and syphilis (VDRL). It also includes PSA for men.
V.V.I.P. Health Check-Up
140 parameters
- The most extensive package, adding insulin resistance markers (HOMA-IR), an expanded Cardiac Profile with D-Dimer, full male and female hormone profiles, and a set of tumour-marker blood tests, including PSA, CA 15-3, CA 19-9 and Alpha-Fetoprotein.
A note on specialised markers.
Some higher-tier packages include biomarkers such as Troponin-I, D-Dimer, NT-proBNP, infectious disease tests and tumour markers (including PSA, CA-125, CA 15-3, CA 19-9 and AFP). These tests have specific clinical uses and are not interpreted as stand-alone screening tools in the way a routine cholesterol or blood sugar test is. These specialised tests may provide useful additional information in certain circumstances, but they do not diagnose a condition or rule one out on their own, and the significance of these results depends on your symptoms, medical history and wider clinical context. Any result outside the expected range, from any package, should be discussed with a doctor.Â
How to Choose the Right Health Check-Up Package
Choosing a package is less about the parameter count and more about what you want the check-up to tell you. Consider your age, medical history, any known risk factors, and whether a doctor has already recommended particular tests.
Basic suits a routine baseline check when you have no specific concerns. Comprehensive adds broader general testing across more systems. Premium and Executive each add different specialised tests, cardiac and inflammatory markers in one, hormone and renal detail in the other, so the better fit depends on what you want covered rather than which is priced higher. Royal and V.V.I.P. are the most extensive options, adding infectious disease and tumour-marker tests for those who want the widest possible screening.
If you are unsure, the Medilife team can help you choose before you book.
Fasting and Preparation
Preparation depends on which tests are included in your package, and Medilife will confirm any fasting requirement before your appointment.
As a general guide, fasting glucose, some lipid tests and certain iron studies may require 8 to 12 hours of fasting, while tests such as Complete Blood Count, Thyroid Profile, Vitamin D and B12, and HbA1c generally do not require fasting. Always follow the specific instructions Medilife gives you for your chosen package, since requirements can vary by test and by laboratory.
Home or Clinic Sample Collection
Home sample collection is available across Dubai through Medilife Healthcare Services LLC. A trained professional visits you to collect your sample, so there is no need to travel, park or wait at a clinic. This is often the easier option if you are booking for a family, managing a busy schedule, or simply prefer to be tested at home.
Clinic-based collection may also be available through the relevant Medilife facility. Confirm the location and availability when you book.

Other Diagnostic Tests and Services
If you are looking for one specific test rather than a full package, or want to arrange sample collection separately, these Medilife services may be more suitable:
Checks red cells, white cells and platelets on their own, useful for investigating anaemia, infection or general blood health.
Fasting glucose and HbA1c testing to screen for or monitor diabetes and blood sugar control.
A full lipid profile covering total cholesterol, HDL, LDL and triglycerides, useful for assessing cardiovascular risk.
Checks TSH and related thyroid hormones, useful if you are experiencing fatigue, weight change or other thyroid-related symptoms.
Checks levels such as Vitamin D and B12, common deficiencies in the UAE that can contribute to fatigue and low energy.
The same home-collection service used across Medilife's diagnostic tests, so you can book any of the tests above, or a full package, without visiting a clinic.
