Who may need hepatitis B vaccination?
Previous doses and exposure risk
Hepatitis B vaccination may be relevant if you have never been vaccinated, cannot find your vaccination record, or have started a course but have not completed it. It may also be recommended for people with a higher chance of exposure, including healthcare workers and household or sexual contacts of a person with hepatitis B. A clinician can review your history and advise on the appropriate next step.
Children
Children follow an age-appropriate vaccination schedule. If you are arranging a dose for a child, tell Medilife the child's age and bring any existing vaccination record so the correct pathway can be checked.
Work and travel requirements
Some employers and travel plans call for proof of hepatitis B vaccination or immunity. Tell us what documentation you have been asked to provide and when you need it. Requirements vary, and a vaccine appointment alone may not meet every employer or destination rule.
Quick answer
Recent possible exposure
If you have recently had a needlestick injury or possible contact with infected blood, seek prompt medical advice. The next steps after an exposure can be time-sensitive and may involve more than routine vaccination.
Hepatitis B vaccination course
Hepatitis B vaccination is given as a course. Many three-dose products use a schedule at the start, one month later and six months after the first dose. Other approved products and clinical situations use different schedules. Your age, previous doses and vaccine product determine which course is appropriate.
Bring your vaccination card or any record of previous doses, even if the course was started elsewhere. If you missed a dose, you can usually continue the series without starting again. A clinician can check the product, dates and any need for further doses. Ask Medilife which vaccine is available for your appointment before booking if you need a particular product.

Before and after your appointment
Bring previous records
When arranging your appointment, share your age, previous hepatitis B doses and any known allergies or serious reaction to a vaccine. Mention a current significant illness, pregnancy or breastfeeding so the clinician can assess the vaccine and timing that suit you. Pregnancy or breastfeeding alone does not automatically rule out hepatitis B vaccination.
Share your health information
At the appointment, the vaccinating professional should check your history and suitability before giving the injection. You may be asked to remain briefly afterwards, and you should receive guidance on your next dose and vaccination record. A sore arm or mild tiredness can occur after vaccination. Seek urgent medical help if you develop signs of a severe allergic reaction, such as breathing difficulty or swelling of the face or throat.
What happens at the appointment
Vaccination helps prevent hepatitis B. It does not treat an existing infection. If you have been told you have hepatitis B, ask for a clinical assessment rather than booking a vaccine as treatment.
Price, location and care team
Price and complete quote
Medilife lists hepatitis B vaccination at AED 320. Before confirming, ask our team whether the quoted amount covers your planned dose and whether an assessment, visit to your location or other charge applies. The total cost of a course depends on the number of doses recommended and the price for each appointment.
Your preferred Dubai location
Medilife can bring the vaccination appointment to your home, office or hotel in Dubai. Tell us your preferred setting, address and time when you contact the team, and we will confirm the appointment details. You can also ask about current insurance or reimbursement documentation before booking.
Medilife healthcare team
Medilife's home healthcare services are delivered by its own team. For your hepatitis B appointment, ask our team to confirm the vaccinating professional, the vaccine product and where the dose will be given. We can also discuss your previous doses before you make an appointment.
Patient feedback

Testing and other vaccination options
A vaccine and a hepatitis B blood test answer different questions. An HBsAg test checks for a marker of current hepatitis B infection. An anti-HBs test measures antibodies to hepatitis B; a clinician may recommend it in certain situations, such as checking the response of someone with an occupational exposure risk. Testing is not required for every person before or after vaccination. Ask which test, if any, is relevant to your circumstances. Medilife also offers hepatitis B testing as a separate diagnostic service; confirm the available tests when enquiring.
If you need protection against both hepatitis A and hepatitis B, Medilife also offers a combined vaccination option, listed at AED 575. The two infections are distinct, and the combined option has its own course. Explore hepatitis A and B vaccination or ask which option fits your records and plans.
Medilife offers a separate hepatitis A vaccine, listed at AED 550, for people who need hepatitis A protection without choosing the combined option. Explore hepatitis A vaccination.

Hepatitis B vaccination questions
Most healthy people who have completed an appropriate course do not need a yearly hepatitis B booster. Some people need an antibody check or further doses because of their work or medical circumstances. Bring your record for individual advice.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding are not automatic reasons to avoid hepatitis B vaccination. Tell the clinician before your appointment so the appropriate product and your circumstances can be reviewed.
The vaccine will not clear an existing infection. Arrange medical advice about the test result and any follow-up you need.
Tell Medilife exactly what your employer or destination requires before booking. Our team can confirm which vaccination record or documentation can be provided for your appointment.
